Sam’s Club was a 10 acre commercial property. ATS was hired by Moorefield Construction to setup a system. Due to the size of the site ATS installed a Mobile Active Treatment System (MATS) unit along with a 21,000 pretreatment tank.
The stormwater system was a Chitosan Enhanced Sand Filtration System and also had the capability to treat of pH. The system was designed with an alarm that had an auto bypass to prevent discharge offsite that exceeded regulatory limits. A total of 882,032 gallons was treated and discharged into Strawberry Creek during March and April of 2009.
